About PledgeRadar
PledgeRadar LLC is an independent media and review studio focused on smart products and emerging games. Our goal is simple: give backers and buyers the most honest, unvarnished picture of a product before they spend their money.
What we cover
- Smart products and consumer hardware: gadgets, desk and home tech, everyday carry, wearables and connected devices.
- Emerging games: tabletop and board games, card games, and indie video games, many of which launch through crowdfunding.
- The crowdfunding market itself, on Kickstarter and Indiegogo: what gets funded, why, and what tends to go wrong after the campaign ends.
Why we exist
Crowdfunding pages are written to sell. Renders look better than prototypes, timelines are optimistic, and shipping costs often appear only after the campaign closes. Backers rarely have a neutral place to check a project before they pledge. PledgeRadar exists to be that place.
We aim to publish the most authentic voices around a product: our own analysis, the data a campaign actually produces, and what real backers and creators say about their experiences, clearly labelled so you always know who is speaking.
What you will find here
- Insights: articles and campaign teardowns explaining what raised, why it worked, and the risks to watch.
- Campaign database: new Kickstarter technology and design campaigns that have raised at least $50,000, tracked daily with funding pace and an independent risk analysis.
- Community: moderated backer discussions, plus attributed roundups of public Reddit discussions about crowdfunding.
Independence
PledgeRadar is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or paid by Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or the creators we cover. We do not accept payment for favourable coverage or for changing a risk rating. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled as such.
