Privacy policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026. This policy explains how PledgeRadar LLC ("PledgeRadar", "we") handles personal information when you use pledgeradar.com.

Information we collect

• Email address: when you enter it to access the site, subscribe, or create an account.
• Account details: your display name and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in readable form).
• Content you submit: posts, replies, reports and "useful" votes in the community.
• Technical information: approximate country, browser type, the page you arrived on, the referring site and campaign (UTM) tags, and a one-way hash of your IP address used for abuse prevention. We do not store your raw IP address.
• Crawler visits: when an automated crawler such as a search engine or AI crawler requests a page, we record its name (User-Agent), the page, the time and the response status, and keep this for up to 180 days. We do not record IP addresses for this, and ordinary visits by people are not logged this way.
• Cookies and local storage: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and local storage for preferences such as your language and that you have already entered your email.

How we use it

• To provide the site, keep you signed in and operate the community.
• To send you updates and newsletters about crowdfunding and our coverage. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To prevent spam, fraud and abuse, and to enforce our community guidelines.
• To understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the site.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We use service providers to run the site, such as our hosting and database provider, and they process data only on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Retention

We keep your email and account information while your account or subscription is active. If you ask us to delete it, we remove it within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records for legal or security reasons. Moderation logs are kept to ensure decisions can be reviewed.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop sending you emails, by writing to [email protected] from the address concerned. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and you may complain to your data protection authority.

Children

PledgeRadar is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new "last updated" date.
